Nice, I like the look of the dark metallic armour. You see a lot of Iron Warriors whose metal is just too polished, but this looks far better to me. Now all you need is some nice dirty yellow chevron action.

I like the paintjob, but I think a highlight of some description (even if it's just a light drybrush of silver) would help the armour pop. It looks great though mate!

It works very well as is, in my opinion. It has that oily, grimy look, which would be lost if highlighted further.

And I'd save any chevrons for things that deserve a hazard warning, like chainswords ;)

That's nice to see some IW love! I think with this legion you can be pretty lazy in the paint job, just go for some simple dry brush over all the metallic part to make it pop, some wash and then an other light drybrush and that should do the trick :)

...Yeah, right up until it's time to do those exacting straight-line chevrons. ;)  Good, straight, uniform chevrons are some of the hardest things I've ever painted, and are single-handedly stopping me from doing an Iron Warrior auxilia of my own!

@Martinsen: the test mini looks fantastic.  Can't wait to see the rest of the Grand Battery!

Thanks all for imputs. Next step on project is to paint a warsmith, 39 tac marines, 3 medusas and a elite havent desided on it yet thu but thinking one a contemptor dread whit a big hammer/drill siege breaching deviece.

oh and for Chevrons so fare i have "cheated" and used masking tape, making it abit easyer.

For the chevrons you can also cheat more by using decals.  Basically print up a couple of 8.5 x 11 decal sheets in different widths and then cut to size for whatever you need them for.  Use microsol/set technique to make them fit to the model and no more worries about masking etc.   Probably better to print them on white instead of clear decal sheets to make the colours pop more.

Just a thought.

I did try to paint the IW icon on 2 of the shoulder pads but i think it ended up looking too much like jolly roger/the punisher so i stoped for now.

That IW face is a tough one, without the sharp angles, it looks too skullish. i dig the work so far, Looking proper mean.

Looks good, I like it. Could be worth waiting another few months as I''m sure that FW will release a decal set for the Iron Warriors. They make life a lot easier for doing Legion symbols.

Has the iron warriors icon changed post heresy? 'Modern' transfers may be suitable...

Unfortunately their Heresy-era and 40k era symbols are slightly different, though you could probably get away with it in a pinch. The IW icons on the vehicles FW have painted are Heresy-era ones, though whether they had some custom decals made up in order to produce them, I don't know. I'm hoping they bring out a proper decal set for them.

So after digging up one of my old dreadnoughts and painting it i realised the following its very small in comperison to "newer" dreadnouth breeds not sure it will fit so well eny more one the battlefield, so now iam thinking about if it can fit the roll of one of Peturabos iron circle robots not sure about thier size due to lack of visual evidens or maby ending up as a sige breaker terminator in som forgotten patten armor.

nice use of the Anvil Industry models and I like your urban camo - especially the kneeling models.
