Hi all

Another Blood Angels player here.

My army will be based on the Angel's Wrath Rite of War - so jetbikes, hit-and-run assault marines, land speeders, and tac marines/termies in Storm Eagles. This probably isn't going to be the most resilient army ever made but I think it'll be a lot of fun to play!

I've finished up a couple of marines just to get an idea of how they are going to look, pics below (edit - oops, just noticed a lovely mold line on the guy on the right). Currently in the pipeline are the rest of the tacticals, an assault squad and the first jetbike.

All the photos I post here will be copied over to my section of the Gallery.

Sorry for the shoddy image quality of the pics - eventually I'll get round to taking decent pictures when more units get finished.

(I will also figure out eventually how to post thumbnails!)

I love the battle damage / weathering you have done, especially on the shoulderpads on the right-hand marine, second picture - that is something that I have been unable to accomplish successfully, despite multiple efforts :)

Thank you, Zhent.

The weathering is done with an oil wash applied only to the recesses. As for the damage I just use a sponge, and dab almost all of the paint off of the sponge before applying it to the mini.

By the way I'm really looking forward to seeing that contemptor of yours when its finished, and you have the green colour absolutely spot on!

Exquisite Paint job mate. That's the look I hope to achieve, though I lack your painting skills.

Thank you! To be honest I actually prefer the more gory looking red that you are using over my own colour scheme. but too late to turn back now lol!

Excellent work, Grey Area :) I too really love the battle damage you've managed to achieve with these. I'll probably also use a sponge to apply battle damage onto my own Fists when I got around to painting them!

Cheers :) I've seen some fantastic looking battle damaged Imperial Fists floating around on the web. Weathering effects seem to work particularly well on yellow for some reason!

Yeah, I've seen quite a few too and must agree! And I'm relieved that it is so, because yellow is already a pain to paint, so imagine if we who paint yellow had to go around hunting for good weathering effects on top of that! ;)

Anyway, looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Well I've found out fairly fast who I have to try and keep up with. ;)

Great work there on the marines, I'm really loving the battle damage.

Dreading painting mine, have not painted any Blood Angels since I ran out of the old red paints, gonna have to learn how to use a spray gun. :(

Hi guys,

At some time soon I'll be posting up an army list for you to give opinions on - Having been away from the hobby for several years I think I may be a bit behind when it comes to making a list that won't leave me getting tabled every time I play! So far I've just chosen the models that I think look cool :)

As for actually getting stuff finished - Nearly done one of the jetbikes :) and working my way through the tacticals.

I haven't taken photos of any more basic marines as they are just more of the same.

Took a pic of the jetbike, although I really don't like this picture as I spent quite a while airbrushing orange highlights into the red areas of the model and the picture just makes it look flat :( Oh well, serves me right for not being able to take a decent photo...

Cheers :) I'm certainly not short of cardboard boxes so maybe the first example would be worth a try.

You horribly talented swine!

I love it and I don't like jetbikes.

What you thinking of treating us too next?

Man that's sexy.  I wish I had the eye to do weathering.  While I like my Angels looking pristine and pretty, the grittiness on these are astounding.  I'm posting my latest one here just so I can do a near-side by side comparison

Thanks Durfast :)

Assault marines next B)  although first I'm gonna sit down with the HH Betrayal book and try to write an army list. For which I will probably need feedback from those more experienced at playing than me.

No problem :) Gorgeous jetbike by the way.

Have you had any problems with the quality of the casting on the jetbikes? The underside of mine was so messed up that I had to do a lot of green stuffing, using pictures on the web to show me what it was meant to look like :o Was just wondering if this kit usually causes problems or if my bad casting was a one off.

Loving the army Grey!

Are you air-brushing everything?
