Just to let people know, the Forge World Open Day is on Sunday, 13th August. Cost is £12.50 with early ticket sales at Warhammer Fest this weekend and then being released after.

Sadly, I can't make it this year as I'll be in Sweden.

Don't worry I'll be there, might have to learn how to write whole paragraphs rather than just posting photos and bullet points though. ;)

nice that it's a good distance from warhammerfest, to give FW a chance to make some new stuff.

What's sad about being in Sweden?

I'm certainly interested... Unfortunately, once again, its a Sunday event. This makes it difficult. Saturday would work fine, but not a Sunday....

So next week sees the ticket release. Who is going? Hopefully I can get a ticket for myself and my brother as my exams end early August so I should have some time for holidays :D

"We have all burned. Down in the fire pits, or from the brander's
iron in the solitorium, we have all touched the fire. It leaves scars,
even for us. We carry them proudly, with honour. But the scars
we took that day on that battlefield, we bear only with shame
and regret. They are a memorial in flesh, a physical reminder of
everything we have lost, a burn even we fire-born cannot endure
without pain."

I'd love to go. Seriously considering it.

This would be my first time at a FW event, so any kind of advice is more than welcome... ^_^

If you want to buy anything you have two options:

1. Arrive at least an hour early and queue up. That means you should be able to get any early releases but you lose the first hour or so of the event.
2. Buy things in the afternoon. This is the better option if you are either not getting any early releases or aren't worried about taking them home that day. This option normally means you don't have to line up and if items have gone out of stock, FW will order them for you to be delivered to your house free postage.

Have a good look in the Studio areas. Most importantly, talk to the staff. They are all really friendly and very open to conversations. They will make it clear on areas they can't discuss but anything they will talk about, they will. The staff will give you suggestions on how to improve painting or modelling (Mark Bedford and Phil S are especially good for this) or help you will general rules questions. Don't forget the Specialist Games department as they are working on some fantastic bits at the moment. Chat to the artists, they are more interesting then people think and can offer some useful insights into the Black Books and Imperial Armour. Don't forget FW are more than just the Heresy so chat about all the systems you can. It does get crowded in the Studio area, particularly around mid-late morning but it does thin out later afternoon. If you want pictures of the models in the cabinets then either go into the Studio area straight away while people are lining up in the Sales Area or wait until later afternoon.

While you're at Warhammer World, make sure you put time aside to go around the exhibition hall. It is fantastic. I've been around it multiple times and there is always something new to look at.

If you are going to order food at Bugmans, be prepared to wait for a while. Although service on Open Days is improving, it still takes some time to get your food.

Most importantly, have fun. The Open Days are enjoyable but the more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it.

Any idea what time the day closes and what ticket prices are? I don't think I could make the full day, but could maybe do the afternoon....

Actually, that is pretty how an average bunch of girls look in the Nordic states, if somewhat more covered. I'm not here for the weather, you know
