Scabeiathrax "The Great Unclean One"

IMG_20170430_083611.jpg

Scabeiathrax (Lord of the Blighted Pit, Maggotspore and The Wind of Nurgle) is an ancient Great Unclean One, a huge bloated sack of disease and contagion and one of Nurgle’s most favoured Greater Daemons. Scabeiathrax resides wallowing in one of Nurgle’s largest plague pits called the Blighted Pit, until he is called to plague the corporeal universe.

Wherever he treads he leaves a trail of disease, filth and corruption. He carries with him the Blade of Decay, a crude rusting cleaver, imbued with the power to rapidly age and decay all it touches. Those who are hit by it find their wounds become instantly infected, and their flesh rotting away before their eyes.

Start of your deamon host then? It's a good start but I've never understood the popularity of Nurgle. It'll be interesting to see how Book 8 now handles daemons and the changes with 8th ed.

To be honest, I'm not that interested in Book 8 now, given what is proposed for 8th Ed.

I love the idea of AoS style warp scrolls, it's going to make list building more fun and if they ever cock-up a unit, it will be so much easier to fix.

I think Book 8 will be written for 8th ed. It was mentioned at the Weekender that they were intended to use the Daemons Codex as the base; the fact that all the FW units will have been updated for the release of 8th means that the FW Studio knew it was coming this time and they've planned accordingly.

I am going to link Mike into your comment, because he remains very pessimistic about the whole thing. Despite several attempts to convince him that all proposals at the moment are positive for the game, he remains very suspicious of the Heresy's way forward with 8th Ed.

We will see.

We already knew FW models for 40k would be in 8th. GW have said all FW units (as in imperial armour) will be getting rules for 8th.

They also said that 30k is sticking with 7th for now.

Heresy is still in limbo until FW give us a the gen.

I'm not getting sand in my knickers until we know what the score is. There's no point in guessing what will happen. I have faith in FW, they haven't let me down yet. Well, maybe with destroyers but I can live with that.

Yep, I reckon an early pre-buy for people at Fest with pre-orders up on the website for the following week.

I will be using these as inspiration for my nurgle army. Like the spot purple colour. Been toying with primarily purple nurgle daemons. Not sure it would work?

Yeah purple that strong is't what I want, the light sickly looking purple, primarily plague bearers. Mixed with a green for drones, nurglings etc. Not sure. Will have a play soon.
